Allegedly Instigating Imams Have Congressional Cowards Crying, "I-Mommy!" By Doug Wrenn July 23, 2007 Be afraid. Be very afraid, not just from Islamic terrorists, but also from what radio pundit and best-selling author Michael Savage correctly calls, "The Enemy Within," the useful idiots, afflicted with entrenched loony liberalism and festering anti-American vitriol, who now dominate the shallow halls of Congress. Now, 30-40 years later, we are all paying for the sins of those still effected by excessive music, mushrooms and marijuana of their ill-spent delusional and miscreant youth. The roosters, now sporting pin stripes instead of tie-dye and short, thinning gray hair instead of long, dark braids, ponytails and Afros, have now come home to roost, but more akin to the chickens that they really are, they have once again laid an egg that we are all now again wearing on our faces. To rewind the telling of this tragic tale, six imams aboard a US Airways flight bound for Phoenix at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on November 20, 2006 were ejected by order of the plane's captain after numerous passengers and members of the flight crew were alarmed by the many alleged suspicious actions of the men. After being detained and questioned by federal and local law enforcement officials, the imams were later released without being charged, but after the flight took off without them. They have since filed a discrimination suit against all those who made statements against them, including the local airports commission and US Airways. As can be expected, various Muslim and Arab advocacy groups have since boarded the bandwagon and are also joining the uproar for their respective fifteen minutes of whining and fame as well. Various reports, many of which are disputed, allege that the men, now appropriately known for their circus act as "The Flying Imams," were praying aloud, changing seats, giving odd looks to each other, making antagonistic statements, and requesting seat belt extenders that were not needed for their size. If these reports are true, then it is little wonder why the men were released and not charged. Their actions were squirrelly, not criminal. Acting squirrelly is not a crime, but neither is the reporting of it, or at least, supposedly. Congressman and ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee, Peter King (R-NY) sponsored legislation called the "Protecting Americans Fighting Terrorism Act," AKA: "The John Doe Amendment," which shields civic-minded patriots from retaliation for reporting such suspicious activity. The bill passed in the House of Representatives in April by a margin of 304-121, including 105 Democrats voting affirmatively. Now, the Democrat leadership has killed this motion in conference. Yes, I said the Democrats, those loving, compassionate promulgators of equality and diversity. Two can play that game. Perhaps from now on, Caucasians charged with so-called hate crimes should sue their minority accusers. One of the reasons why the city of New Haven now wants to issue ID cards to illegal immigrants residing in the city is because supposedly these immigrants often are fearful of notifying police when they are victims of crime because of their illegal status. Fine, give the illegals their precious ID cards. Then when they report crimes to the police, let the crooks sue them, too. If the ever-myopic Democrats, who never seem to have any grasp of the correlation between action and reaction, think this knee-jerk, feel-good drivel will heal what they perceive as a racial divide between Arabs and non-Arabs, or Muslims and non-Muslims, as per usual, they are again sadly and grossly mistaken. This half-cocked brainstorm from the cerebrally challenged of the dreamy Dems and the loopy libs will only make any such sentiments worse by increasing anger, fear and suspicion. Of course, the bigger picture here is the safety and security of our nation and it's people. Speaking of action and reaction, corner a wounded animal and see how what happens to you. The issue here is not libel or slander; it's suspicious activity. While my own gut tells me that the actions of these six men were orchestrated for unrevealed reasons, clearly their actions did not warrant arrest, but certainly did warrant detention and questioning if the reports we have heard have merit. Are we slandering any individual by labeling him as a possible burglar, a drug dealer, or a car thief any time we call the police to report such relevant suspicious behavior? This inane trend of willfully coercing citizens from reporting suspicious behavior to proper authorities will turn some good but passive citizens into vulnerable sheep about to be slaughtered, and other normally good, law-abiding but more brazen citizens into vigilantes who will act first and ask questions later. Given such an obstacle to my own personal safety, count me in that second group. If this dire nonsense is given traction and justification, in similar future scenarios such as the one that prompted this debacle, logically thinking airline passengers in our post September 11th world will very briefly weigh the odds of the lesser of two evils in this no-brainer, a lawsuit vs. death, and as a result, then possibly hurt or even kill some Arab or Muslim looking individual, regardless of innocence or guilt. Is this what we want in America? This is the inherent danger of political correctness. When given no other civilized options, some citizens, like the caged animal, will pounce without compunction. While intelligent, rational Homosapiens speak, walk erectly and have thumbs instead of tails, the primal fight or flight instinct is what we share with the primitive members of the animal kingdom, and when trapped in a fearful situation on a plane, there's no where to run, which only leaves the option of "fight." Too much similar nonsense has prevailed and already eroded our country and our culture for the cowardly crusade of political correctness. The time is now more than overdue that we simply tell such idiots, "Too bad, deal with it!" I have very little sympathy for Arabs and Muslims nowadays who claim discrimination. Are all Muslims terrorists? Certainly not, but are most terrorists Muslims? Yes! And for the roughly 90% of the Muslims who are peaceful, if most of you didn't continue to obstinately condone this barbaric violence by your incessant silence and passive agreement, maybe fewer of us would be suspicious of you. Edmund Burke told us that all that is necessary for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing. You chose your side, now deal with your teammates, but don't ask me to shed any tears for you while a miniscule minority of your faith continues to threaten my country and diminish my liberties and quality of life with a wink and a nod from you fence-sitters of Middle Eastern origin. And enough with the ranting and blubbering about "profiling." When used appropriately, and not as normally bastardized and exaggerated by the usual suspects and the radically liberal subversive bastions that try to laughingly pass themselves off as the alleged "mainstream press and media," profiling is an effective law enforcement tool that does not at all solely concentrate on race, contrary to popular belief. Furthermore, if Scandinavians had commandeered those planes on September 11th, we would now be rightfully focusing on fair-skinned, blue-eyed blonds wearing clogs, carrying tulips and eating chocolate instead of you folks. Newsflash, when a tall thin young black man robs a bank, cops don't go looking for a short fat older white woman, so take a breath and suck it up. No one is buying your self-wallowing victim-class tripe of mass discrimination except liberals, Democrats and idiots, and to paraphrase Mark Twain, "…but I repeat myself." Every barrel has a few bad apples. I am by no means saying racism does not exist in the US, but I am saying that most Americans are decent people who loathe such degrading behavior as much as those who are legitimately victimized by it, and the amount of racism that truly exists in this very accepting and charitable nation is far less existent than as proclaimed by those very few connivers of all races who are pursuing an agenda for personal gain. Discrimination against anyone is an unacceptable evil, but that does not mean that in a post-9/11 world, provoked by radical Muslims, we should all blindfold ourselves and sing "Kum Bay Ah" when we perceive Arab looking individuals acting suspiciously on a plane. There is an underlying, unspoken, dangerous and growing sense of fear and capitulation in this country among some regarding Muslims. Europe is now learning its lesson the hard way. We're a little slower. Despite the 90% of its peaceful practitioners, Islam is nevertheless a faith steeped in the forceful conversion of Christians and Jews. And just like how there is more than one way to skin a cat, there is also more than one way to lop off a head. More and more, we now see footbaths in places where Nativity scenes would otherwise be banned, school curriculums that require the study of the Koran but not the Bible, established time set aside in some classrooms for Islamic prayer where such time set aside for Christian prayer only a few years before would have been banned, exclusive Muslim days at theme parks that would never dare to exclusively hold "Christian" days, lectures and seminars trying to persuade Christians and Jews to better understand Muslims, yet no such talks geared to helping Muslims better understand Christians and Jews, and on the sordid laundry list goes. Throughout time, and currently across the globe in various countries, the radical minority of Islam continually proves its inability and unwillingness to play nice with others, with oceans of shed blood as a flagrant reminder. Now decent but anxious US citizens are formally impeded from notifying the police of suspicious behavior if conducted by an Arab looking person by threats of a lawsuit, despite our government's incessant pleas for us all to be more observant and vigilant about unusual behavior or suspicious activity. This subtle but effective manipulation is terrorism-light. In football parlance, it can also be called "running interference." This is what assault is to murder, theft is to robbery and illegal burning is to arson. We need to take our country back. That begins with replacing the abandoned word, "no" back into our lexicon. That requires guts, and yes, it also means that someone may actually disagree with, and possibly even dislike us. Being popular is not necessarily synonymous with being right, and during a time not all that long ago, we actually used to recognize the difference and accept it accordingly. Discrimination must never be tolerated, but at the same time, those with excessively thin skin, regardless of color or shade, must also be reasonably put in their place when warranted. Too often, and at our peril, we try too hard to not offend people who continually seek to be offended. There must never be any tolerance for any individual or group intimidating law-abiding citizens in any way from freely notifying law enforcement officials of any concern. To our credit, many laws have recently been enacted throughout the country that now protect individuals in both the private and public sectors who become "whistleblowers" by exposing public and corporate corruption. Yet now we can no longer call 911 if the subject of our call happens to wear a turban? Such ludicrous, abominable and unacceptable anarchy that so endangers the 1st Amendment is the very reason why we have, and must not be afraid to protect, and when necessary, to use the 2nd Amendment. We must all wake up and rapidly grow a backbone, including you so called peaceful Muslims, all too conveniently are hiding silently in the shadows, yet who also aren't real keen about living in backward 7th century squalor, or being consummately oppressed by a tyrant and don't exactly relish the idea of having your throat cut or being blown up to bits by some wild-eyed, foaming-at-the-mouth dissenting fanatic, trying to catch the express shuttle to a 72 virgin orgy north of planet Earth. You are as endangered by the radical fringe of your own faith as much as all the rest of us are, and you probably know it even better than we do. Do you really think those evil 19 whack jobs on September 11th first took an inventory, or for that matter, even cared if any fellow Muslims were working in the Twin Towers before they crashed those planes into them? Think about it, who will then defend you from our common enemy if we lose? How much is keeping up your silence like a bunch of penned sheep and playing ball with Satan's disciples, who fancy themselves to be Allah's soldiers, really worth to you and your families in the end? Remember, this is, indeed, a very "small world," and you also have an "enemy within." In the garden of life, modern political correctness is to weeds what now seemingly obsolete common sense is to plants, and when unchecked in shared soil, the weeds will eventually dominate, choke and kill the plants. As a society, we can collectively choose our lifestyle; one ripe with liberty or one riddled with anarchy, but make no mistake about it, individually in this same society, some of us still refuse to simply go quietly into that good night, despite the half-baked rules of political correctness. To all of America's enemies, both within and outside of our borders (such as they are) get this straight; we're not all Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid. Most of us aren't running for anything, and we sure as Hell won't run from anything, either. Free speech includes calling 911. Decency doesn't necessarily equate to weakness. Most Americans prefer not to take the law into our own hands, but when stripped of any other option, that doesn't mean that we won't, either. Given reasonable common sense, mutual respect and reverence for the unobstructed rule of law, there is no reason why people of all faiths, creeds, colors and genders cannot live peacefully together in the benevolent melting pot known as America. That is a founding principle of our nation, but neither that principle, nor our nation will survive or thrive until all or most of us, despite our many differences, distinguish and choose "right vs. wrong" over "them vs. us." As one of our "prophets," named Benjamin Franklin, once sagely noted, "We must, indeed, all hang together, or most assuredly, we shall all hang separately." |
