Boycott Nationwide Insurance

By Tom Evers

June 05, 2006

Whoever the ancient culprit was that devised the idea of a "melting pot" might have not understood how such a noble idea would have become so twisted by today's warped society.

The original idea of a melting pot has been taken out of context by the liberal elite to purport the clear agenda of the new (or rather recent) foreign hordes that have infiltrated our grand nation which has survived two hundred plus years of external and internal strife, including two world wars and our own bloody civil war.  The true understanding of melting pot was meant to describe a state where those from the outside who immigrated to the United States would arrive ready to learn the culture, the language, adopt the long established ideals of the American way of life including -- culture, thought, laws, and customs - and melt into American society.

To go a step further, the concept of melting pot meant that immigrants would be willing to shed the culture and language of the "old country".  And after all, if the old country was so wonderful, one would assume that the immigrant wouldn't have sought to leave it for America in the first place.  .

Everyone has probably seen this quote from Theodore Roosevelt which has recently found its way to many an email server:

"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language… and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

-- Theodore Roosevelt, 1907

Pretty clear cut thinking, right?  Seems like common sense to any thinking person.

Now fast forward to America, 2006.  So what is different now from even - fifteen years ago?  What's changed?

The most obvious change is the unwillingness of illegal and legal immigrants to learn English.  If it never occurred to the liberal masses - a key ingredient of having a successful and productive society is setting a single standard where individuals can read, write and talk in a single language.  In effect, communication should be standardized so there is no misconception by others as to what a person means or says.  No barrier between citizens or between citizens and the state.  No confusion or misdirection, or learning barrier that prevents people from people acclimated into society.

The next change is the new "tolerance" pushed by social advocates who force the ever prevalent multi-cultural agenda - at work, in schools, in communities.  The mantra is that diversity builds strength; this nonsense is mouthed from their phony lips at every turn.  But diversity doesn't build anything but walls and separation between peoples - it forces the spotlight on differences and not similarities.

Liberals fail to realize that when a human being is forced into recognizing differences, he is then forced to make comparisons between the various notions, and then lastly he makes certain judgments about what he sees.  Herein lays the problem.   Not all cultural differences, languages, and notions are equal, as liberals would have you believe.

Let me give you an example.

Recently, liberal black activists have attempted to present Kwanzaa (an invented holiday created by and for African Americans) on equal footing with Christmas.  This is, of course, absurd at best.  But since Christmas is largely celebrated by the West, where it originated (Europe), and black activists opted to come up with a holiday founded in the black tradition to countermand Christmas.

So now when you go to the local Walmart at Christmastime, you see hundreds of Kwanzaa cards next to Christmas and Hanukkah cards.  If you buy a calendar you see that through intimidation and threats of boycotts by Jesse Jackson types - Kwanzaa sits on the calendar in December next to the only two, legitimate December holidays, aforementioned.

When you go into stores and schools these days, you see Kwanzaa decorations.  It's utter madness.

Based on this example you can clearly see the limitations of the melting pot of today.  Instead of embracing Western-American traditions and holidays, we now see hordes of the dissatisfied starting their own holidays, traditions, and sticking to their own languages, and creating their own micro-communities.

Have you ever asked why everything is now printed in English and Spanish:   Most appliance instructions, ATM directions, voting ballots, all state mandated documents, and even motor vehicle signs?

But the biggest and newest travesty is taking place right in our neighborhood.  Take a look at the new all-Spanish billboards that Nationwide Insurance has put up on the Hartford/West Hartford border (around and near New Park Avenue).  I never thought I'd see the day when a company like Nationwide would cave in to social pressure, and put dozens of advertisements up - written in Spanish only.  This author calls for an immediate boycott of Nationwide Insurance for contributing to the division of our Nation.

Why do we spend extra money translating basic instructions so that lazy people who don't want to assimilate get a break?  And guess who gets the opportunity to pay the tab for the lazy?

You do.  And through the nose!  For those who don't know, insurance advertising expenses get passed onto the consumer.

I was recently in West Hartford Westfarms at the Verizon shop.  What did I see?  Cell phone advertisements both in English and in Spanish?  Is the three sentence slogan more effective in Spanish than in English?   It's a scary thought to think that and advertisement in English is so ineffective with Latinos that they need their own marketing material to be persuaded to by a cell phone - in English-speaking Connecticut.

Perhaps it's not sad, but rather - pathetic.  Here corporate America puts the almighty dollar over taking the correct cultural stand for America.

But you have to ask - what is the advantage of learning the language of the land if you can already - eat, shop, read, vote, take classes, and do most things in your own little microcosm?  Your can survive in your own little neighborhood?  And take advantage of a system that rewards lazy foreigners who have no intention of becoming part of America.

The sad part is that a lot of what you see today wasn't created and instituted by the flooding hordes, but instead by rich liberals who fought to create a dependency class of foreigners, who would vote for them if they financed and created options such as all of those above.  This is the dream world of the Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton.

Multiculturalism is about power and control by liberal Democrats.  And it's our grand society that is losing its shine in the face of the rising tide of foreigners, who have not one reason to assimilate and learn what really made America great!  Our history, traditions and language are meaningless to them.  They can already get what they want by just being themselves and watching Telemundo.

In this day and age, the foreigners who come across our borders intentional come here planning to not assimilate into American society.  The plan is to join your own culture's microcosm, and take advantage of the system around you.  Although it should be said here and now that this is not the intention of everyone, but of a good majority of those flooding across the Mexican border, wrecking havoc everywhere they go.

So, the next time you're in the store or you see them walking down the street talking to each other in Spanish or whatever language it is - just look at them, and shake your head in disgust.

The next time you see a candidate supporting bilingual education and language, vote against him or her.

The next time you see product advertised in Spanish-only literature or advertisement, boycott the company.

And the next time you hear a teacher, liberal or atheist trying to put non-Western ideas, thoughts and traditions on par with those that made America great - speak up to set the record straight.

Don't let the liberals and their followers win the culture war.  America is our place to lose!

Until Next Time!
