The God-less Church of the Democrats
By Peter & Helen Evans
November 19, 2004
We've heard Hillary telling a group of her faithful that Democrats will have to begin to talk about the Bible. San Fran Nancy Pelosi, has accused the Republicans of "altar-ing" the political landscape. So, guess what we'll be hearing from now on? That's right, the theology of the God-less Church of the Democrats.
However, we've been hearing it all along. The Democrats have always co-mingled the function of church and state. But it's their church they've incorporated into their political agenda, the God-less Church of Political Correctness. Let's think about it for a moment. What's the purpose of government? Yes, it's to protect our rights. In other words, to keep us free so we can make our own choices. That's it, freedom. Not goodness, not niceness, not protection from insult, but freedom. However, you can't walk down the street without tripping over a Democrat who'll tell you that government's role is to "improve society" to make us good in some fashion. Making us be good, however is the role of a free, faithful, individual conscience, not of government. The Democrat approach doesn't seem like a separation of church and state.
We all know our President is a man of faith, yet he's also a man truly dedicated to keeping us free. That freedom allows us to choose to be faithful, faithless or even hover somewhere in the middle and pretend to practice a faith. That's the Republican separation of church and state. We don't take religion out of public life, we allow people the freedom to choose.
Our faith may indeed consider some acts to be sins, or our sensibilities may consider some acts rude, but Republicans do not impose their faith based beliefs on public life by making sinful or rude acts into crimes. On the other hand, Democrats feel so sure of their faith in the God-less Church of Political Correctness that not only are certain acts (and thoughts!) considered sins, they are made into crimes, for which we must be held accountable, not by our conscience, not by our Creator, but by the Government. Another trampling of the notion that government shall neither promote nor deny any religion.
What is the structure of this Church? First of all, government run by the Democrat elite will be the Supreme Being. They will make our decisions for us, rather than allowing us to do the risky procedure of choosing. The operative word will be "us," not "me," nor "I" nor "the individual." No longer will we be bothered with moral dilemmas; no longer will we be expected to "learn" to be good, we will be "instructed." No choice required on our part, in fact we can do away with free will completely. We don't have to worry about having the option of doing wrong and reaping the consequences of our actions because our actions will be dictated for us... for "the common good" of course. Individuality is frowned upon in this Church.
By now some of you are thinking these ideas are not new at all. You've heard them all through the years of the Cold War. It was called Communism then, later it turned into Communist Lite or Socialism. Of course, the names have changed, but not to protect the innocent. They've changed because what didn't work before will be tried again under a new name. We fought it then, and we'll have to keep on fighting it now.
If you don't want to be assimilated into the God-less Church of the Democrats, get ready to rumble.
